First Year Induction

First year students access a carefully planned induction programme at the beginning of the school year to ensure a smooth and successful transition into post-primary school.  This takes place for the first few weeks of term and involves students’ tutors as well as teachers students will be interacting with for the school year.

School Expectations

Working together in collaboration, students, parents and teachers have come up with a set of expectations based around the three pillars of respect, responsibility and cooperation. When you enter Grange Community College as a student, you agree to make every effort to meet these expectations. By doing so, together, we succeed in creating a safe, healthy learning environment that nurtures self-discipline and encourages students to take responsibility for their own learning. Learning to meet these expectations promotes co-operation, team work and commitment within the school and community so that all are unified as partners in learning for life. View the expectations we have for different areas of our school below.

School Uniform

See the poster below to ensure your child has the correct uniform for the school year. Our year heads do uniform checks weekly and students will be asked to wear a school-supplied uniform if they arrive to school out of uniform. It is the parent/guardians’ responsibility to ensure the uniform meets the uniform standard.

For comfort purposes, we do not require students to wear formal shoes and so instead, students can opt to wear all-black runners/trainers but these must be all-black, without colour (see acceptable examples below).
