DESCRIPTION

This level 6 Advanced certificate in Early Learning and Care is designed to enable learners to develop the knowledge, skills, and competence to work as practitioners, promoting and supporting the holistic needs of children from 0 to six years, and/or to take management and leadership role of responsibility within an ELC setting.

  150 hours work experience required

Educational Progression: 

Graduates who achieve the required standard may progress to further studies in:

NCI, BA (Honours) in Early Childhood Education and Care – (advanced entry to Year 2 with Level 6 Advanced Certificate in Early Learning and Care) 

TU Dublin, TU790 Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Education and TU995 Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Early Childhood Education 

DCU,  Bachelor of Early Childhood Education – Code:  DC001 

Employment Progression

Our QQI level 6 major award in Early Learning and Care (ELC) qualifies students to open their own childcare setting or work as a room leader, supervisor, or manager in an early years setting. This course will prepare graduates for roles in a range of Early Childhood settings as well as employment as Special Needs Assistants in schools.

Minimum Entry Requirements

All applicants must have completed a QQI L5 in Early Learning and Care.

50 Euros Registration Fee

Free for eligible learners.

No registration fee for applicants that satisfy the criteria for BTEI.
