DESCRIPTION

This course offers a comprehensive introduction to the latest Beauty Therapy techniques. Students explore a diverse range of areas such as manicure, pedicure, waxing, facials, and skincare. They also build a solid foundation in anatomy and physiology, which is essential for understanding the body's systems and how they relate to beauty treatments. Additionally, students have the opportunity to study holistic massage, gaining well-rounded skills in both traditional and holistic beauty practices.

Students can earn internationally recognised diplomas in beauty therapy, opening doors to a variety of career opportunities. Graduates are well-prepared for employment in numerous settings within the beauty industry. Moreover, students can continue their studies at the college, advancing to more specialized treatments and therapies. Facilities and Experience

Beauty facilities at the college have been completely renovated in the last three years and now feature two state-of-the-art, fully equipped treatment suites.

Each Friday, students manage a live salon, working with real clients to gain valuable hands-on experience and confidence as professional therapists.

Beauty Specialist Diploma - ITEC Level 2 (equivalent to NFQ Level 5)

  • Skincare and makeup

Holistic Massage Diploma - ITEC Level 3 (equivalent to NFQ Level 6)

  • Indian head massage

  • Anatomy and physiology

  • Professional conduct & business awareness

QQI Level 5 Modules include:

  • Skincare and makeup

  • Manicure, pedicure, waxing

  • Indian head massage

  • Anatomy and physiology

  • Professional conduct & business awareness

Short Additional Courses

  • Introduction to advanced treatments such as IPL/Laser, Microdermabrasion, Electrical Body and Facial Treatments.

  • Participate in workshops with our industry partner, Dermalogica, and gain hands-on experience with leading skincare products and techniques.

  • Enhance your expertise with workshops in gel nails, brow lamination, tanning, lash lifts, and spray tanning. These additional opportunities allow you to diversify your skill set and stay at the forefront of beauty trends.

MINIMUM ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Leaving Cert Standard or Equivalent.
Preparation for Level 5 - Beauty Therapy

Mature students welcome.

VTOS Places are available on this course.

EDUCATIONAL PROGRESSION

Many students progress within the college to Advanced Beauty Therapy with a focus on Beauty Aesthetics or Complementary Treatments. Mature entry routes to Higher Education are also available.

EMPLOYMENT

This course prepares the students for employment in a variety of settings within the beauty industry, such as salons, pop-up-salons, , beauty salons, health spas, hotels, cruise liners as and self-employment therapists and brand ambassadors
